When a child dies many parents need to find extra support at this difficult time. Bereaved people find that different kinds of support help in different ways.

For some it helps to talk to other people who have been through a similar experience and the organisations below are all run by the bereaved for the bereaved:

The Child Death Helpline  

The helpline is open every day throughout the year.

Every evening 19.00 - 22.00, Monday to Friday 10.00 - 13.00, Tuesday and Wednesday 13.00 to 16.00

Your call will be answered by a bereaved parent and an interpreting service is available.

Counselling 

Other bereaved people find that counselling can help them by giving them a space to talk. Some prefer to go to counselling with their partner.
